Why do we pay council tax?

Published by: uk.ask
Council Tax is paid to enable the provision of goods and services by the council. Taxation enables services like caring for the elderly and disabled, education, roads, recycling centres and disposal of waste, libraries, trading standards, refuse collection and kerbside recycling, housing, leisure, parks, street cleaning. It also enables crime prevention and fire rescue and prevention.
